The social fabric of our world seems to be falling apart. There are hot spots of conflict all over the world. The environment is giving us signs that this planet is approaching the end of its existence as we know it now. People are anxious. The economic indicators all over the world are troubled. What can anyone do about all the apparent chaos?

Jesus will come back soon!
In the midst of predictions of dates for His coming, religious confusion, fear, and secularism, this world in its vast majority will continue to reject Jesus to the day of His coming. The Bible says, that it will be like in the days of Noah (Matthew 24:37) People will be drinking, doing drugs, doing sex, entertaining themselves, making money, wrapped up in life, working hard, doing religion, and then the end will come all of a sudden!
Jesus Himself predicted the manner of His coming: “For as the lightning comes from the east and flashes to the west, so also will the coming of the Son of Man be." (Matthew 24:27)
“In the CONFUSION, lying preachers (FALSE RELIGION), will come forward and deceive a lot of people. For many others, the OVERWHELMING SPREAD OF EVIL (Evil manifested in all forms. Climate change, environmental and natural disasters, geo-political tensions, socio-economic upheaval, discrimination, racism, broken marriages, etc) will do them in—(3. CONSEQUENCE) NOTHING LEFT OF THEIR LOVE but a mound of ashes. Matthew 24:12 (MSG)
Our world can not survive without LOVE. The last message to the world before the coming of Jesus is about the LOVE OF GOD, manifested in self-respect, and LOVE FOR PEOPLE. (John 13:35). It will dark, very dark indeed when love is absent in the hearts of most people. History has recorded mass murders in the past, such as the Jewish Holocaust, the Armenian, the Rwandan Genocides, wars, and estimated 200 million people killed by “Christian” acts of violence in the last 2.000 years of human history. But the level of COLLECTIVE SELFISHNESS AND VIOLENCE IS INCREASING AND SHIFTING ALL OVER THE PLANET. That simply points to a loss of love and compassion.
When Jesus said that the MAJORITY OF PEOPLE WOULD LOSE THEIR LOVE on the time of the end, He meant that the opposite of LOVE would take over. No one could say it better than the Apostle Paul 2.000 years ago by Divine revelation. Read how he describes the absence of love.
“As the END APPROACHES, people are going to be SELF-ABSORBED, MONEY HUNGRY, SELF-PROMOTING, STUCK-UP, PROFANE, CONTEMPTUOUS OF PARENTS, CRUDE, COARSE, DOG-EAT-DOG, UNBENDING, SLANDERERS, IMPULSIVELY WILD, SAVAGE, CYNICAL, TREACHEROUS, RUTHLESS, BLOATED WINDBAGS, ADDICTED TO SELF, AND ALLERGIC TO GOD. They’ll make a SHOW OF RELIGION, but behind the scenes they’re animals. Stay clear of these people.” 2 Timothy 3: 1-5 (MSG)
How to Prepare for the Return of Jesus
Revelation 19:12 tells us that “His eyes were like a flame of fire.” It has been said that the eyes are the window of the soul. When you look a person in the eye, you get a sense of them. Christ has eyes like a flame of fire as He returns again. Hebrews 4:13 tells us, “There is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account.” You are either free in Christ or you walk in darkness, afraid of God! There is no in between! God sees everything. He knows you.
You either LET GOD LOVE YOU by understanding His love demonstrated at the cross, or you fight Him every step of the way. No religion, no dogma, no doctrine, no legalism can save you from that predicament. It’s all about a RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD, SELF AND PEOPLE.
“Don’t be SELFISH; don’t live to make a good impression on others. [Narcissism] BE HUMBLE, THINKING OF OTHERS AS BETTER THAN YOURSELF. [Exactly the opposite of narcissism] Don’t think ONLY about your own affairs, but be interested in others, too, and what they are doing. Your attitude should be the same that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God, he did not demand and cling to his rights as God. He made himself nothing; he took the humble position of a slave and appeared in human form. And in human form he obediently humbled himself even further by dying a criminal’s death on a cross”.
Invest in your RELATIONSHIP with God, and He will keep you loving, generous, compassionate, and giving. It’s impossible for humans to create love in the absence of love. When the feelings are gone, God is the only one who can create in you sacrificial love.
To prepare for the return of Jesus, get your heart right, confess and turn away from sin.
- If you have just decided to follow Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, find a local fellowship, get water baptized and receive the Holy Spirit.
- Ask the Lord for understanding and wisdom as you read the Bible. Read your Bible. Listen to an audio bible. Memorize scripture.
- Forgive everyone who has offended you, whether or not they ask for it. All of us, to one degree or another, fail to forgive those who, knowingly or unknowingly have hurt us. It is here that we must choose to go on in the new life God has given us. We must choose to continue to receive His forgiveness by becoming a forgiver ourselves (Matthew 6:14, 15). - Get rid of all known sin. Pray for the conviction of the Holy Spirit of unknown sin, and receive God’s loving forgiveness.
- Monitor any wrong thinking and continue to receive His loving forgiveness on a daily basis as the bedrock of your relationship.
- Guard your mind, knowing that sin begins in the mind. Get prompt forgiveness for sinful thoughts especially those produced by anger or a critical attitude. Ask the Lord for His thoughts.
- Turn away from the world. Be “in the world, but not of the world”.
- Keep your mind “stayed on Him” by thanking Him in every circumstance of the day. Listen to hymns and spiritual songs when you can, and hum, whistle or sing chorus songs when you can.
- Pray that God will help you to receive His love and the filling of the Holy Spirit every day. Knowing that leads to union with our Lord; pray the prayer of Jesus–that you would be in union with Him as He is in union with the Father (John 17:19-26).
- Commit the day into God’s hands every morning. Be aware of any thoughts or scripture that He may put in your mind. Spend time in meditation with the Lord asking Him about the affairs of the day and the things that are on your heart. Then clear your mind and listen for His “still small voice”. That may take time because of the resistance of the flesh. Our old sinful nature is very persistent, but we must be more persistent. Be aware that there are three persons that have access to our minds: God, the devil, and the flesh (ourselves). We must sort them out using the Bible as our guide.
- Whenever you need answers to life’s many questions, ask the Lord to give you a word about your need.
- Know that you never have to be lonely; Jesus is right there at the door knocking, waiting to fellowship with you and to lead you into fellowship with our heavenly Father. (Revelation 3:20)
God is calling to make a decision right now - what will you do?! Seek that personal encounter with Jesus Christ. Experience Him, Pray, Think, Study and Obey God’s Word. “And this is the real and eternal life: That they know you, The one and only true God, And Jesus Christ, whom you sent.” God is most glorified in us when we are most satisfied in him. LET GOD LOVE you FIRST. Then LIVE LOVED, while you LEARN to LOVE God, self, and the people of your world! “Trust steadily in God, hope unswervingly, love extravagantly.” (1 Corinthians 13, MSG). Choose LIFE today!
